What happens if you need to change or cancel something you have booked with us.
When you book, we save your card and charge nothing. The payment is taken 7 days before your session, the moment free cancellation closes. Cancel before then and no money ever leaves your account.
If you book within 7 days of the session, there is no free-cancellation window, so your card is charged at checkout. The checkout page says so before you pay.
What you get back depends on how much notice you give. The currency changes, not the amount:
| Notice before the session | What you get back |
|---|---|
| 7 days or more | Everything. Your card has not been charged, so there is nothing to refund. |
| 48 hours to 7 days | The full value as credit toward a future session or course batch. No cash. |
| Under 48 hours | Nothing. The hour has been held for you and cannot be offered to anyone else at that notice. |
| Not turning up | Treated as a cancellation with no notice. Nothing back, and no further reschedule. |
Cash refunds are not issued once the charge has run. That is not meanness: card processing fees are not returned to us on a refund, so a cancellation after that point costs real money that a credit does not.
You can move a booked session once, free of charge, to any other available time, up to 48 hours before it starts, the same moment cancelling for credit closes. Your payment and joining link move with it. If you need to change it again, or something comes up inside those 48 hours, email us and we will see what we can do.
Sessions can be booked from 10 hours and up to 21 days ahead. Booked inside 7 days, your card is charged at checkout and the table above applies from that moment: credit if you cancel more than 48 hours out, nothing inside it. The checkout page says which one you are on before you pay.
If we have to cancel or move a session, you get a full refund or a new time, whichever you prefer. This applies whatever the notice period.
When you register, we save your card and charge nothing. The payment is taken 14 days before the course starts, the moment free cancellation closes. Cancel before then and no money ever leaves your account.
If you register within 14 days of the start date, there is no free-cancellation window, so your card is charged straight away. The checkout page says so before you commit.
What you get back depends on how much notice you give. The currency changes, not the amount:
| Notice before the start | What you get back |
|---|---|
| 14 days or more | Everything. Your card has not been charged, so there is nothing to refund. |
| 7–14 days | The full value as credit toward a future batch. No cash. |
| Under 7 days | Nothing. The venue and the instructor are committed and the seat cannot be resold in time. |
| Any time, up to 2 hours before | Send someone else in your place, free, whichever row above you are on. |
Cash refunds are not issued once the charge has run. That is not meanness: card processing fees are not returned to us on a refund, so a cancellation after that point costs real money that a credit or a replacement attendee does not.
Credit is held against your account and shown on your dashboard, with the date it expires and where it came from. It is valid for 12 months from the day it is issued. There is one balance, whichever cancellation created it: it can be put toward any future course batch or consultation, in part or in full, with anything left over staying on your balance and anything short charged to your card in the usual way.
Where you hold more than one credit, the one expiring soonest is spent first. We email you once before a credit expires, with enough notice to use it. Credit cannot be converted to cash, and it is not transferable to another person.
You can pass your seat to someone else, free, at any point up to 2 hours before the start whichever row of the table above you are on. Give us their name and email from your dashboard and we will invite them.
The seat stays yours until they accept it with their own account, and you can withdraw the invitation until then. One substitution per registration. Your payment stays on your record: if anything needs refunding or disputing afterwards, it resolves with you rather than with the person who attended.
Your seat stays yours while we sort it out. We email you a secure link to pay and try again each day for 5 days. If it still has not gone through 9 days before the start, the seat is released to someone on the reservation, and you will not have been charged anything.
If we cancel or reschedule a batch, you get a full refund or a place on the next one, whichever you prefer. This applies whatever the notice period and wherever you are on the table above.
Reserving a seat on a batch that has not yet opened for registration is free. No card is taken, and no payment is collected until you choose to register. If you change your mind, there is nothing to cancel: simply do not complete registration when it opens.
A batch opens for registration once enough people have reserved a seat. Everyone who reserved is emailed and given 7 days to complete registration. A reserved seat is not a guaranteed seat, because batches have limited capacity, so registering promptly once you are notified is the only way to secure your place.
If a batch does not reach the number of reservations needed to open, it stays on the reservation. Nothing is charged, and your reservation carries no further obligation. We will be in touch if the batch is cancelled outright rather than left open for future interest.
